Irene Michaels: “What the World Needs Now is Love” Hits KISS FM Radio Play

Josie Music Award Winning recording artist Irene Michaels has just released the Burt Bacharach / Hal David monumental hit, made famous by Jackie de Shannon “What The World Needs Now is Love” that is now celebrating a rotated radio air play on KISS FM and radio stations throughout the US. Its release could not have been unveiled at a more apropos time with the violent and scary climate the world is facing.

We all must realize music has the power to change the world as exampling the impact of the freedoms songs of the civil rights movement, such as “We Shall Overcome.” The song broke down barriers, educated people, built empathy, and had a hand in ending segregation. Songs have the power to make changes in unexpected ways, challenging preconceived notions and shedding light on issues that have been historically ignored.

This particular song already has a history and a future with the unique version Irene has recorded via Tribeca Records and was expertly produced by Ray DeTone. In 2016 this song was recorded by Broadway for Orlando to benefit the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting. Jackie de Shannon‘s version of this song was selected by the US library of Congress for the preservation and the National Recording Registry just this year.
