New York based Philanthropist - SohoJohnny (John Pasquale)

SohoJohnny (John Pasquale) is New York based philanthropist from SoHo, who uses music as a means to bring people together to help others. The charismatic musical ambassador, who started out in the business world (real estate/trucking), has always known the gift of sharing and healing that music can bring. He talks about his music production initiative, also titled SohoJohnny, which hosts musical charity events for the American Cancer Society, Humane Society, anti-bullying organizations (#IAMNOJOKE), Meals on Wheels, and more recently, COVID-19 victims and their families. As a kid who roamed the streets of the Bronx, and who became a gang member, by the sixth grade, he decided to come up with a better way, and to help keep the neighborhood kids safe. Hooking up an old phonograph, speakers and a strobe light in the garage of his parents’ home, his turf became a safe haven for other kids, and eventually, his parties got bigger, until he was known as the consummate host, laying the groundwork for what his SohoJohnny company stands for today. The impetus for his years of musical philanthropy began with his wish to raise money for the American Cancer Society after his father passed away from the disease in the mid-90s. Most recently, SohoJohnny dealt with the tragic loss of his mother to COVID-19, and while deep in mourning, he channeled his energy into something positive in her name, and for everyone else who has been hurt during these times into something beautiful and entertaining to benefit humanity. He created “Let Me Help, Inc.” -- a state and federally approved non-profit whose mission is to help those who have been devastated by something terrible in their lives. In November of 2020, he recently hosted the “Let Me Help, Inc.” free virtual celebrity filled six-hour benefit concert which included live performances and inspirational messages to benefit those devastated by the pandemic and to address such other important causes as bullying and prostate cancer. Celebrities who participated ranged from Sir Patrick Stewart, Jeff Goldblum, Slash, Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp), John Lodge of The Moody Blues to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Cedric The Entertainer, Jane Lynch, Charlie Sheen, Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire, and many more. On December 23, SohoJohnny joined forces with Pink Floyd’s Scott Page to host a live streamed holiday virtual celebration featuring music legends Fred Schneider (B-52’s), Leland Sklar (The Section), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Kenny Lee Lewis (Steve Miller Band), and more. Additionally, SohoJohnny recently launched two independent record labels under the guidance of industry veteran John Velasco: Tribeca Records featuring indie and AOR acts, and Soho Records, a mainstream pop/rock label, with plans to be announced. Says SohoJohnny of his mission: “I am grateful for the opportunity to create events and to provide platforms for myself and others to share their musical gifts with people. Making that impact ensures that people will take away from the performances a little mirth and joy, that can only make the world a better, more compassionate and loving place.” We would love for you to help spread SohoJohnny’s message, and inspire others to help others....through the gift of music.
