Randy Edelman & Leland Sklar Duo @ 9/11 SohoJohnny’s Let Me Help Celebrity Benefit Concert In NYC
New York City: Composer, film music architect, master piano virtuoso, Randy Edelman and artist, author, and bass Messiah, Leland Sklar will be collaborating in a rare and unprecedented performance at the SohoJohnny Presents: “9/11 Let Me Help Music & Fashion Celebrity Benefit Gala Concert” on Saturday September 11, 2021. It is set to take place at Rumi Event Space located at 229 W. 28th Street (between 7th and 8th), in Manhattan. The Red Carpet begins at 5:00 PM EST and the main event starts at 7:15 PM sharp.
The event pays tribute to the 20 year anniversary of 9/11 with a barrage of fashion and music celebrating New York Fashion Week and a prelude to the opening of Broadway. The Let Me Help, Inc foundation founded by John “SohoJohnny” Pasquale strives to help people whose lives and livelihoods have been affected in some way by unforeseen circumstances or illness by raising money through the celebration of music, laughter and dance, and will be benefiting “Operation Warrior Shield”, an organization helping wounded veterans through the use of service dogs.
The unparalleled performance of Edelman and Sklar marks the discovery of the 8th wonder of the world, as these King of Kings showcase and combine their remarkable talents. The “Duo” both have careers that challenges the longevity of the Queen of England.
Randy Edelman is wildly recognized for his music scores breathing life into the most popular movies of this century including: “Last of The Mohicans”, “Ghostbusters 2”, “My Cousin Vinnie”, “27 Dresses”, “ Kindergarten Cop”, “Twins”, and many more. His songs have been covered by some of the most illuminated artists including Barry Manilow, Olivia Newton-John, Jackie DeShannon, Patti LaBelle, Bing Crosby, Nelly, The Carpenters, and many more. Edelman has written themes for the Olympics and NASA as well. His list of awards and accomplishments are are lengthy enough to be novel worthy. Most recently Randy has released his new anthemic, anti-pandemic, party hit song, “Comin’ Out the Other Side” via Tribeca Records, which is creating quite a buzz.
Leland Sklar is a bass anomaly having played on over 2600 albums and has worked with artists from Michael Jackson to David Bowie. He has played with James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Phil Collins, Linda Ronstadt, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Hall & Oates, Lisa Loeb and an endless list of others. Leland has work with Hollywood’s top session players in a band known as the “Section.” Most recently some of those same players formed a band called “The Immediate Family” and having recently released an album they plan to tour in November. Leland has also released the planet’s coolest coffee table book called “Everybody Loves Me” consisting of 6000 pictures of people giving him the middle finger.
