SohoJohnny To Introduce Singer/Songwriter Sari Schorr At The Benefit Concert For Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Saturday 11/20/21 7 PM ET

Talk Show Host/Entertainer/Philanthropist SohoJohnny will be introducing singer/songwriter Sari Schorr at the  benefit concert for the Roswell Comprehensive Cancer Center on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at 7 PM ET.

Singer-songwriter, Sari Schorr is an unstoppable tsunami that has stormed across the international blues/rock world, leaving a trail of shell-shocked cities in her wake. Sari has performed at Carnegie Hall, Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Ottawa Bluesfest (Canada), Nottoden Festival (Norway), Paradiso (The Netherlands), Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival (UK), Guitar En Scene (France), Rother Bluestag (Germany), Sulwałki Festival (Poland) to name a few. Sari will be touring the UK and Europe in the fall of 2021 and throughout 2022.

Sari’s live shows are mesmerizing, being called, “unmissable events.” “When Sari Schorr named her debut album, she practically wrote her own press: recorded or live, Sari truly is A Force Of Nature.” – Blues in Britain.

Sari has a voice like no other with a 5-octave range set against hard-driving blues-rock. “Schorr can sing ‘em. All husk and muscle, the operatically trained New Yorker makes you believe every stormy line…” – Classic Rock Magazine. Living Blues wrote, “her gently frayed mezzo, at times reminiscent of Janis Joplin, packs quite a punch. And, like Joplin, she’s not afraid to push her voice to lung-bursting limits.”

It is clear from the lyrical content of Schorr’s songs that while she has plenty to say, it is driven by experience and a passionate honesty for her role of carrying a soul-felt message. – RNR Magazine

Sari Schorr was signed to Manhaton Records and burst onto the Blues-Rock scene with her critically acclaimed debut album, A Force of Nature, produced by iconic British Blues pioneer Mike Vernon (David Bowie, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green). Her sophomore album, Never Say Never, ventured deeper into social and political and issues Sari cares about.

Sari mixes a passion for music with a duty of social responsibility. She has devoted her talent and energy to music projects of a grand scale for humanitarian causes. Most notable is her work on a “Toast to Freedom” for Amnesty International, where she collaborated with Warren Haynes, Keb Mo’, Taj Mahal, Eric Burdon, and Carly Simon. Sari’s humanitarian efforts include work in Haiti and India. She founded “Matters” – a non-profit that draws attention to humanitarian causes through the arts. Sari is a marathon runner and animal rights activist. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and rescued pit bull triplets.

About Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is America’s first cancer center, which supports cutting-edge cancer research and provides treatment and care for more than 36,000 patients each year.

Roswell Park opened one of the first Clinical Research Centers in the nation that focuses specifically on the development of new cancer treatments. Launching clinical trials and bringing these new therapies to patients requires significant funding, making every dollar raised through donations critical to the finding the next cancer cure. Groundbreaking trials are being funded entirely by donations to Roswell Park.

Roswell Park has also improved cancer care in Nigeria by opening the country’s first cancer center. Not only is the goal to improve cancer control globally, but also right here at home, too: breast cancer and prostate cancer appear to behave in similar ways in both Africans and African- Americans, and it’s hoped that information gained through collaborative research will lead to more effective treatments for those diseases.

Roswell Park has been named a 2020–21 Best Hospital for cancer by U.S. News & World Report and recognized as high-performing for colon and lung cancer surgery.
