Review: SohoJohnny “Precious and Few”

Rockstar, Producer, and Philanthropist SohoJohnny has launched his debut solo recording via Tribeca Records called “Precious and Few”, originally recorded in 1972 by Climax. The words to the song are aligned like a rope to cling to and the sentiment is a testament to the calm, smooth and romance in the artists tones.

The telescope of memory echoes the past and what is familiar. A hint of reggae ads spice to the memory and allows the artist to make the song his own. The textures and colors within SohoJohnny’s version of the song raise the bar from the original as it brings the song to a relevant time and place and embraces the warmth of our ordinary days.

SohoJohnny is not only a recording artists but an entrepreneur, producer, actor, philanthropist and visionary. His foundation Let Me Help, Inc. has provided financial help to charities including “Meals On Wheels”, Anti-bullying through “Creative Visions”, American Cancer Society”, “Operation Warrior Shield” and a variety of others, through music and concert benefits. He secured a starring acting role in an up and coming movie starring Vernon Wells as well as a part in a movie starring Brian Cox.

SohoJohnny has produced several marathon events in the name of charity including a 13 hour live disco event featuring Deney Terrio, Monty Rock III, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes and a host of others. He produced a Christmas soirée starring Sister Kim Sledge, Leon and the People’s, Michael Musto, and others. During the heart of Covid he produced a 6 hour virtual extravaganza featuring Sir Patrick Stewart, Jane Lynch, Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne, Julian Lennon, Rick Wakeman, John Lodge, Jeff Goldblum, just to name a few. Most recently he produced a 9/11 Tribute Celebrity Benefit Concert and Fashion Show starring Randy Edelman, Kim Sledge, Leon, Mario Van Peebles, April Rose Gabrielli, Joey Belladonna, Felipe Rose and many others. He has also produced a television pilot called Soho at Night.
